2019 Youth Skills Showcase – 20th Year Anniversary Posters
Hospitality Group Training celebrated 20 years of operation in 2019 and wished to promote this fact in their annual Youth Skills Showcase with the theme 20 Countries in 20 Years. Western Australian apprentices and trainees provide a night of entertainment and food for attendees.
The desire was to promote this anniversary event without releasing which countries would be represented. I thought up a concept where the event could be marketed with the most common ingredients used in cultural cuisines, providing a representation of what could be expected on the night without revealing any specific dishes. I felt the posters needed a modern formal approach to reflect the prestige that befitted such an anniversary and designed these concepts.
The promoters intended the posters to be displayed throughout the venue, providing splashes of eye-catching colour in a mostly white space. I acquired macro photographic images of the desired ingredients, deep-etching and arranging them to provide the lush colours and vibrant energy that would, hopefully, build the appetites of the attending diners.
